Shall We Play A Game?

Ok, I say we announce that Mr. Old Timey T Rex is the winner of a broken game and start a new one. Hopefully one that will have MANY resources including that funny thing called Fuel.

Am I alone in this?

I would go with the majority on this one.
If we did start new, we could use PBP instead of PAL ship build priority.

I will make a motion that we send out a mass email, since not everyone seems to hit this site.

let's wait some days. The guys seem to work hard for the site.

Btw: I won't declare the Lizard as winners. There are a lot of turns until #100. And things may change rapidly.

If we do, please remember: not the standard map (echo cluster). And if you like to try: ExploreMap AddOn. Starbase+ maybe applied, too.
And - most important of all: the rockers pet must be with us!

If you want to express yourself on likes and dislikes of the game, setup, host, etc. please go to the thread I just started just for that. Let's try to keep this thread for a simple vote on restart and perhaps specific reasons why.

As for mods and maps, I don't mind a random map, but please no patterns like rings, clusters and such.

On the restart question.

So far I have heard back from 8 out of 11, both here and by email.

There are 6 in favor or OK with a restart.
There are 2 in favor or OK with no restart.
There are 3 not yet to vote.

There were also several comments requesting better resources and better placement.

Based on that, before going back to the Planetsserver Team, I am going to ask Ricki if he would be willing to host a new game to our specs.

IE: NORMAL resources, SB+, ONE ally, Wrap/Sphere, Square Map, Tim Host. I also think there has been interest from our group in using Explore Map. I'll let you know what he says before we need to make a final decision.

I will also distribute this by email to make sure everyone get the message. In the meantime, I would also like to make sure that whichever we do we still have all 11 players? Are you all willing to go with the majority?

No, no... for the ATF to actually come for you, you must have in your possession more guns than the local police. So, say, for example, you live in a major metropolitan city, you would need the same number of guns as say, oh, Ecuador. That's why you always see the ATF coming after us country folks.

(I'm living in a peaceful country. They only storm your house and shot you to mush, if a careful neighbour has called them with the hint you're a terrorist. Specially a muslim one. It's not like in the states, where they come, when you forget to shorten your grass )

I was always a bit amazed that folks in (Then) West Germany (c 1990) used to say how peaceful it was but the Polizei had MP5s. Something that would not be seen here until 9/11. The Red Brigade and various Socialist or amusingly self styled "peace" groups had an unpleasant tendency to make things go boom.

Although the naked "peace ladies" we usually good for a few laughs. Particularly if you hit them with the door of your truck as you drive by... but I digress.
